Risk and Impact
Sierra Planning and Management undertakes risk assessment as both a discrete exercise in response to client requests for critiques of planned projects, investments, or restructuring, and as an integrated element of our detailed business planning and implementation services.
As a discrete exercise, we can provide your project, strategic
plan, transaction or other goals, with a detailed consideration
of the range of risks, ranked by degree of significance and likelihood
of impact, and our opinion as to mitigation as necessary. Risk is
highly project-specific but our services are applicable to almost
any investment: new business, products or services; real property
sale/purchase and development; sale/purchase of businesses; or implementation
of long-term planning projects (land use planning strategies, recreation
and other public realm developments). We perform these services
as part of due diligence assignments, as project managers and as
part of the public policy process.
Our impact work includes the full range of economic, property-related and financial impact assessment for our clients' investments and, through our partners, we provide environmental, social and cultural impact analysis.
Risk and impact lies at the heart of effective business planning and project implementation. Our strategic planning work, economic development strategies, business plans and master planning all benefit from our focus on the risks to successful implementation of visions and plans - risks arising from variable access to resources and financing, changing market, social, policy and legal environments, regulatory approvals, timing of investment/development and competing priorities.
Because we realize that successful vision requires successful implementation,
risk assessment is a critical aspect of all of our client deliverables.
Specific services include:
- Business Risk Assessment
- Economic and Property Impacts
- Challenges to Balancing Economic and Environmental Sustainability
